One of ATS’ renown products is the ATVS Anemometer, a device that measures air temperature and velocity for testing electronic device heat sinks. ATS had identified a market niche for a new product category as the next generation model of their ATVS anemometer. They required design continuity with the first generation product, incorporation of a touch screen LCD, EMI shielding and cost effective manufacturing for small production as the driving factors of the new design.
Initial research identified ergonomics, aesthetics, assembly sequence, serviceability and usability as additional criteria that needed to be addressed. The final design successfully addressed all issues and created a new brand identity that ATS can use for all future products.
